The Mobile World Congress 2017 has already started in Barcelona, and for the moment has served to confirm Huawei definitively as one of the best players in the mobile industry with the announcement of the new smartphones Huawei P10 and Huawei P10 Plus in collaboration with Leica and the new smartwatch Huawei Watch 2. These new smartphones are two products born as a natural evolution of the popular Huawei P9 and Huawei P9 Plus launched in 2016. The Chinese company has worked hard to optimize the size of its new devices. The thickness, for example, is less than 7 millimeters.
Huawei P10 and P10 Plus
With great care in the chosen materials, something that gives a decidedly premium aspect, both smartphones have been presented today. Both with a display optimized to offer a more vivid and real color. The Huawei P10 has a 5.1-inch IPS-NEO screen with Full HD resolution, while the version P10 Plus has 5.5 inches with Quad HD resolution.
Both devices will be equipped with the new Kirin 960 processor (quad-core A73 + quad-core A53) with Mali-G71 MP8 GPU. The Huawei P10 will also have 4 GB of RAM with 64 GB of storage. Meanwhile, the Huawei P10 Plus will have 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. In both models you can expand the storage via MicroSD. Huawei devices have an internal memory optimization solution that prevents the cell phone from slowing down when content is full.
As for connectivity, the Huawei P10/P10 Plus support 4.5G (four antennas with 4x4 MIMO technology). 3,200 mAh battery for the P10 and 3,750 mAh for the P10 Plus, both with support for quick charge. Of course, also all the sensors and supports today ubiquitous, like LTE, Wi-Fi, USB type C, NFC and Bluetooth. But the highlight of the P10 and P10 Plus is undoubtedly the photographic section, made in collaboration with Leica.
Leica dual camera: size and quality
The first has dual optics with a sensor of 12 megapixels (f/1.8) and a second sensor of 20 megapixels (black and white). In the front camera, we find an 8 megapixel sensor for selfies, with an aperture of f/1.9. During the presentation, Huawei has put special emphasis on the potential of the cameras of its new products, showing many examples of what users can do.
From a software point of view, the two smartphones have Android 7.0 Nougat with the new proprietary interface Huawei Emotion UI 5.1. The Huawei P10 and P10 Plus will be available in many different colors. Available from early March for € 679.90 (Huawei P10), and € 829.90 (P10 Plus).
Huawei Watch 2
Also in Barcelona, Huawei has announced the new generation of the smartwatch Huawei Watch, this time accompanied by the version Android Wear 2.0 platform. Two variations available: "Classic" and "Sport". Both variants have identical hardware. The screen, circular, offers 1.2 inches with a resolution of 390 x 390 pixels. The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 3. The heart of the device is in the Snapdragon 2100 processor with 768 MB of RAM and 2 GB of storage. It also includes sensors and support for GPS, NFC, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and LTE (optional). The Huawei Watch 2 also features a 420 mAh battery and IP68 certified (holds up to 1.5 meters deep for 30 minutes). Available from March from € 329 to € 399 depending on the variant, in black, orange and grey.
