Samsung's most important smartphones, Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, will be updated directly to version 7.1.1 of Android Nougat. Despite the release in the last weeks of a beta program for the transition to Android 7.0 Nougat, it seems that the Korean company has made this decision advancing the pace of updates to the latest version of Android. Once again, we see that the succession of new versions of the operating system of Google causes certain difficulties for manufacturers or mobile operators, who are struggling to provide complete updates to their users on time.
Samsung has confirmed that participants in the Android beta program will be included in the official update to Nougat. The direct update to Android 7.1.1 could be somewhat predictable, but now is a fact that almost equals the Galaxy S7 with the Nexus and Pixel smartphones, already updated to Android 7.1, and from what this new version has few new elements. Some compatible applications (eg Allo, Messenger and Hangouts), the ability to send animated images in GIF format directly from the Google keyboard, and also a new search system that collects images from different sources.
It is necessary to take into account, in particular, that the new emojis not only have the classic changes in the different colors of skin, but also in jobs that are divided equally between men and women, so now the user can use the image of an astronaut of both sexes. In short, with this update, as it could not be otherwise, Google wants to keep all its users happy. Of course, Samsung users will have to wait until at least the first quarter of 2017 to receive the update to Android 7.1.1 Nougat.
