The ZUK series is not sold in the European or American market, where the Motorola brand usually has a fanbase superior to the Lenovo brand, so it is unlikely that we will see this smartphone in our country. However, due to interest, we will review all specifications of the Lenovo ZUK Edge, compact and easy-to-handle cell phone, with a size of 142.9 x 74.5 x 7.68 mm and a total weight of 160 grams, a 5.5-inch screen with Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels), rounded edge design (2.5D glass) and 1500:1 contrast ratio.
There is no doubt that this is a new flagship of the Chinese house, as you can see through its hardware: a latest generation Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC -added to the Adreno 530 GPU-, revised version, more powerful and optimized line of most used processor by the high-end devices in 2016, the Snapdragon 820. The name of Edge that accompanies the name of the device, does not refer so much to curved edges, as the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge (since the glass is only 2.5D, equivalent to a slight curve), but because the screen -extremely thin (only 1.63 mm)- occupying most of the frontal surface (approximately 86.4%, which, in comparison with 91.3% of the Xiaomi Mi Mix, is still a lot).
The ZUK Edge incorporates the Android 7.0 Nougat operating system with the proprietary interface ZUI 2.5, among the most appreciated and prominent details among all the smartphones of the market, it emphasizes the recognition of fingerprints -that promises a reading in only 0,09 seconds- for secure payments, sensor for heart rate detection, and even UV sensor and altimeter. The range of connectivity is broad, and includes the latest generation: 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac dual-band, Bluetooth 4.1 LE and a USB Type-C port for Quick Charge 3.0 (battery of 3,100 mAh), supporting the technology of Qualcomm. In addition, the rear camera chosen has a Samsung ISOCELL sensor of 13 megapixels, f/2.2 lens aperture, LED flash, hybrid autofocus (PDAF + CAF), optical and electronics image stabilization.
For audio playback, it also features the specialized Dirac HD Sound chipset for faithful reproduction of high-fidelity audio. Finally, remember that the Lenovo ZUK Edge will go on sale in two versions depending on colors, Ceramic White and Titanium Black, and two depending on the amount of RAM. The 4 GB version of RAM will be sold in China for ¥ 2,299 ($ 330) while the 6 GB version of RAM will be sold for ¥ 2,499 ($ 360). As we said at the beginning of the article, we do not know if the company plans the international distribution of this device, which certainly has more than interesting specifications for current consumers.
