In the event held a few weeks ago, Google has presented, among other things, the updated version of one of its great successes in sales, the Nexus 5. The new terminal, called Nexus 5X boasts enviable specifications and is riding a Snapdragon 808 processor of six cores at 1.8 GHz accompanied by 2 GB of RAM, a 5.2-inch screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, 2700 mAh battery and other luxuries such as a fingerprint sensor or a port USB type C. And the best, the new terminal provided by Google will be accompanied by the latest version of Android, 6.0 Marshmallow.
The latest flagship of Apple company was announced last September 9 and boasts a new 12 megapixel camera that can record 4K, a renewed processor A9 dual-core accompanied by the co-processor M9, 2 GB of RAM and a new technology called 3D Touch, perhaps the star feature of this new model, which performs different functions based on the amount of pressure exerted on the screen. The new models introduced by Apple will be accompanied by the latest version of its operating system, iOS 9.
The dimensions of the new Nexus 5X revealed that this is a smaller Nexus (compared to Nexus 6P) with a size of 146.9 x 72.5 mm, which will result in a higher dimensional compared to 137.9 x 69.2 mm of previous Nexus 5. We have 8.6 mm occupying the profile of the housing Nexus 5. Moreover, we must not forget that the Nexus 5X also incorporate a larger screen, of 5.2 inches.
iPhone 6s maintains a design similar to its predecessor, with just a few small changes in size and most of all are internal changes.
Nexus 5X screen, as we said, increases its predecessor to 5.2 inches, while the iPhone remains at 4.7 inches. We all know the quality of the IPS screen mounted by Apple, however the Nexus 5X no slouch and thanks to the videos that we have seen, it is observed a good contrast and faithful colors. Another differentiating factor for many will be the inclusion of front stereo speakers in the Nexus, while the iPhone are on the edges.
The new iPhone 6s camera promises spectacular pictures with its 12 megapixels, the same amount as the Nexus 5X. However, the terminal manufactured by LG brings laser sensor auto focus in addition to the pixels of the camera sensor which have a size of 1.55 μm, allowing more light receiving (90% more efficiency in the light receiving than the Nexus 6, for example).
On the software section, the Google Nexus comes with the latest version of Android, which brings new features like Doze, which is designed to manage resources and services running in the background for greater battery life. Android 6.0 also brings an improved personalized management of permissions required for each application on the device.
From the hand of Apple, iOS 9 introduces a new manager to switch between recent applications and simpler new way to surf the "Photos" application and select multiple images among many other innovations. Now we also have the possibility to see our notices arranged in chronological order from the most recent to the oldest and we will have suggestions of places close to our position in the "Maps" application.
In this section, the Nexus may seem the worthy winner due to its superior specifications, however, in several benchmarks, the Apple A9 processor only lags behind the Nvidia Tegra K1 in performance mono-core, exceeding this way Galaxy S6 Edge, the Galaxy Note 4 and the Motorola Nexus 6.
On the other hand, multi-core performance, Qualcomm Snapdragon chip devours Apple A9. This is due in part to its six cores, bursting from a task more efficiently. Both terminals incorporate a fingerprint sensor that allows access to the terminal in split seconds using the latest technology on the market.
The battery is 2700 mAh which, although not the largest, should give a good autonomy due to the SoC using and the size and resolution of the panel LG riding. The battery, as is tradition in the Nexus, will not be removable.
iPhone 6s was presented with a battery of 1715 mAh and despite being smaller than the iPhone 6, which has 1810 mAh, the company said it would be able to offer the same range than its predecessor. Information which suggested that the Cupertino company were too optimistic but nevertheless just look like it is not, it is quite the opposite as the iPhone 6s battery record-breaking autonomy in normal use offers identical times to the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 which has a 3220 mAh battery and terminals over as the Nexus 6 (3220 mAh), OnePlus 2 (3300 mAh) or LG G4 (3000 mAh).
In short, the final factor that will make many opt for the Nexus 5X will be the price, which in the most basic version will cost $379, while the iPhone 6s in its 16 GB model will have a much higher price, $649. The software will also be a factor of the circumstances that determine the choice of many users. Those who want simplicity and functionality at the same time should opt for Apple iPhone, while those who need to squeeze more and change their terminal more complicated aspects of the software will go to the Google device.
